Just heard that Forbes is doing an expose of 3 of the new Green VCs on the block in their February 11th issue. See what Forbes thinks in this advanced article..
The article focuses on 3 venture capitalists Trae Vassallo, Aileen Lee and Samir Kaul and how they are going to lead the way to the GreenTech investor explosion much the same way Doerr and Moritz dominated in the software Interent investment explosion.
I won't comment too much on the article, you can read it yourself. But I will would have like to delve a little deeper than forbes did and ask the following questions:
1) Is the total invested in GreenTech $2.2 billion as Forbes reports or the $5 billion number that most other organizations are reporting?
2) You guy's are talented entrepreneurs and you are being trained by the best, but can a generalist invest in GreenTech or do you need to be a specialist?
3) What sectors are you going to invest in and why are those sectors interesting? What sectors would you not invest in?
4) How do you think Green will be different the .com investing? Will Green be bigger than the .com boom?
Anyway, you get the jist. I would love to sit down with these folks and dig a bit deeper. That being said, I think its an interesting - but a little over optimistic - article.

Over the past 16 years, I have been involved in 5 successful startup companies ranging from an energy company, to several .com companies. Now I am focusing all of my attention on creating the tipping point in the sustainability movement by pushing initiatives in government, business and the broader social landscape.
Many people are curious, what I am doing since I left Powerset. Well, the short story is that I have decided to dedicate myself to what I call the new Green Economy and I am working on several initiatives with other leaders in government and businesses that all fall under the responsibility of non-profit that I am founding called SF Green.
